The work of the SYT is divided into but is not by far limited to the following extremes:
Youth Islamic and National Curriculum education
The Quran-e-kareem and the Hadiths are the real source to understand the true sense of Islam - this is our most imperative objective!
These efforts are already underway and we are looking to develop them further by providing an Suffah International Quran and Hadiths Studies College. This will provide a platform whereby scholars from all over the World will be invited to discuss and educate the youth; there will be Hifz classes for the most enthusiasts amongst the youth. Our aim is to combine these classes in conjunction with national curriculum education such as core subjects including English, Mathematics and ICT to GCSE and to degree level as we becomes more established. It is a proven fact that education is the source of development and prosperity; it will strengthen individuals, their families and the community as a whole.
Almost all households in Britain and the West at large, are suffering from a spectrum of abuse; abuse of parents by children and vice versa, abuse between members and relations, abuse of teachers by the youth, etc, etc; it just goes on and on. SYT is one of the few organisations which have set foot and are providing a platform to tackle these extremely tough issues – SYT is set to positively reduce if not totally eliminate them! These problems we believe are due to the large generation gap which is increasingly building up between our parents and the younger generation; SYT is here to act as an intermediary and to close this gap! We will provide them the solid grounding to educate them and provide the youth with the level of etiquettes required to for instance address parents and elders, how to behave and become responsible and civilised citizens, how to win respects and the hearts of elders and the general public.
Spiritual Training
We appreciate that for gaining the true spirit of human life we need personal awareness for which study of Sufi Path is the direct and precise way. SYT is currently providing this practice in limited form due to certain facility constraints; we are planning to set up a dedicated Sufi practice centre which will be the first of its kind in the UK! To be part of this Sufi Practice Centre project and benefit from the rewards of Zikrullah, this is an ideal opportunity for sadqa jariyah (waqf or continuous reward)
Ladies welfare and Training Classes
Women are the integral part of this modern world. We are especially focusing on the training of our young women, the mothers of tomorrow, providing welfare and training platform by which they can voice their opinion, become confident with adequately dealing with issues of their children and reach their full potential. We have a project to set up a centre for women where we can provide them all necessary training for the preparation of higher studies.
We are also planning to set up a social and leisure facilities for the ladies where they can freely take part for the welfare of their families and children. We are also considering setting up a Foster home to provide a shelter to our women.
Leisure activity classes
It is a noted fact that youngsters are prone to stress this may be due to a number of factors relating to their age, family circumstances, education and so on, all these factor have immense affect on their minds. In order to relieve stress, most will behave negatively as they are not able to bare the burden; this may result in them committing great acts of sin including crime! To alleviate stress and give youngsters a positive approach in those important early years of their lives we must engage their minds in constructive activities; as well as the spiritual and extra curricula activities, leisure activities are also extremely important.
SYT organise various leisure activities including indoor football for boys, netball for young girls, boy scouts and girl guides and various other activities deemed appropriate.
Supporting the poor and needy in third world countries
SYT will also provide human services and financial aid to the distorted communities of the world especially of the third world countries. Depending on the circumstances of the victims at the time, we may support directly or work with large charitable organisations to provide aid to victims of natural disasters in the most efficient manner possible.
